Sailing from Snug Harbor Marina, Cape May in the spring and fall

From the age of 10, when my grandfather and father took me out fishing on party boats, I have been hooked on fishing. At the age of 16, when my father saved up enough money to buy a 16 foot runabout, I was hooked on fishing from my own boat. I bought my first boat in 1984 and have owned boats ever since.

I am a USCG Licensed Captain. I obtained my license in 2004. Why? It seemed to me that I was always bringing friends and family out fishing, and I got a sense of elation watching others bring fish up to the boat. With this in mind I decided to begin chartering to share my experience and help fellow fisherman catch fish.

When it comes to saltwater fishing, my preference is to fish for Fluke. Whether in the bay, off the beach or along the edges of wrecks and reefs, I search for the elusive doormat. You can view a few of the doormats caught in the gallery. My second preference is to go trolling for whatever feels like hitting that day. You never know what you will catch, but I have caught all of the following species: Bluefish, False Albacore, Bonito, Dolphin (mahi-mahi, and even the occasional Schoolie Bluefin Tuna, all within 20 miles of the shoreline. When the Fluke fishing is slow, I will anchor up or drift across a wreck or reef and pick up Sea Bass for some fun. Around mid August, the Weakfish and Croakers usually show up off the beaches. Fishing for them is a lot of fun and there are days it’s like fishing in a bucket. A fish on every cast. In the Spring and Fall, I move to Cape May to fish for Stripers. (Drum are also a possibilty in the Spring)

So, if you want to catch fish, I am experienced in fishing for the species I listed. Come join me and I will do my best to put you on the fish for a memorable and enjoyable day of fishing.
